What is Considered a "Good" Conversion Rate (and how to check yours)!

For starters, you might be wondering what a "Conversion Rate" is and why it's so important to regularly track it. By regularly monitoring your conversion rates, you can gain valuable insights into the performance of your online store and make data-driven decisions to optimize your sales funnel and marketing strategies.

A good conversion rate on can vary depending on several factors, such as the industry, product type, target audience, and marketing strategies. However, as a general guideline, a conversion rate of 2-5% is often considered average, while rates above 4% are considered good and rates below 2% may indicate room for improvement.

To check your conversion rates on Shopify, you can follow these steps:

  1. Login to your Shopify admin panel.

  2. From the Shopify admin dashboard, click on "Analytics" in the left-hand sidebar.

  3. In the Analytics section, you'll see various reports. To check your conversion rates, click on the "Reports" tab.

  4. In the Reports section, you can find different types of reports. Look for the "Sales by Traffic Referral" report or the "Sales by Traffic Source" report. These reports provide information about the conversion rates based on different traffic sources or referral channels.

  5. Click on the report that suits your needs. The report will load, displaying the relevant data.

  6. Within the report, you should be able to see the conversion rate for each traffic source or referral channel. It is usually represented as a percentage.

  7. Shopify also allows you to customize and filter the reports based on specific time periods, products, and more. You can use the available options to refine your data and get more detailed insights into your conversion rates.

How to check your Conversion Rates in Squarespace:

  1. Log in to your Squarespace account: Visit the Squarespace website and click on the "Log In" button in the top-right corner. Enter your account credentials to access your Squarespace dashboard.

  2. Navigate to the Analytics section: Once you're logged in, you'll be taken to the Home menu of your Squarespace account. From there, click on the "Analytics" option in the left-hand menu. This will open the Analytics panel.

  5. Customize your data: To further analyze your conversion rates, you can customize the date range by selecting specific time periods using the date selector at the top-right corner of the Analytics panel.
